Training
Training is scheduled on a first come, first serve basis. Please contact Ms. Vivian Shih shihhu@UMDNJ.EDU at (732) 743-3630 to schedule attendance. Lunch will be served. Training consists of both a didactic and a 'hands-on' session. Most sessions last 4-5 hours and include competency assessment.

The CDC has released QA guidelines for Testing using the Oraquick® Rapid HIV-1 Antibody Test. This document is available at:

These guidelines are incorporated in the NJ HIV POCT testing program.
Site Visits:
Site visits are performed on a monthly basis. At that time, we review testing and temperature logs, discuss on-going problems, re-supply the Counseling and Testing Centers, provide a competency assessments and if necessary counsel staff.
